Real Madrid end interest in Kylian Mbappe - for now - after PSG pour cold water on deal
The TelegraphReal Madrid have ended their attempts to sign Kylian Mbappé – for now – after receiving no encouragement from Paris St-Germain. Real had considered one final bid for Mbappé before the transfer window closes but have yet to receive a response from PSG after they made a second offer of €170 million plus €10m in add-ons. Mbappé has less than a year left on his contract at PSG and made it clear in a meeting with the club’s president Nasser Al-Khelaifi that he would categorically not be signing a new deal and wanted to leave for Real before the summer transfer window closes. As things stand Mbappé would be allowed to sign a pre-contract agreement with Real in January 2022 and could then go at the end of the season without any fee being paid which would be remarkable for the hottest young property in world football along with Erling Haaland. PSG have been attempting to persuade Mbappé to agree a new deal for the past two years but he has steadfastly refused to do so while reiterating that he wants to join Real.
