LG first 5G smartphone with Snapdragon 855 to unveil at MWC
India TV NewsLG, the South Korean multinational conglomerate corporation on Thursday made its plans for Mobile World Congress known. Reports suggest that the announcement had come a day after LG said it will show off its latest flagship smartphone, the G8 ThinQ with a new interface in MWC, but the company did not specify whether it will introduce the 5G smartphone as part of G8 ThinQ's line-up or would it be another brand. The company said that its new 5G-enabled phone will be powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 855 chipset that will help in supporting simultaneously high-resolution games and data-heavy applications without latency. Other reports suggest LG is expected to showcase a dual connected display screen at the MWC where its unbeatable local rival Samsung, is expected to unveil its first foldable phone soon, with Huawei taking a similar step. LG has been striving to reverse its fortune in the smartphone market as its mobile division has been posting losses since the second quarter of 2017, because of maturing demand and fierce global competition.
