Coronavirus Outbreak: Amazon says India business most affected due to the COVID-19 lockdown
FirstpostAnnouncing its Q1 results for 2020, Amazon said that it would be spending $4 billion in COVID-19 related expenses during its Q2. The global e-commerce giant said that due to the nationwide lockdown it had to cut back on a lot of offerings in India and only deliver essential goods. “I think the biggest impact internationally has been in India where, of course, similar to all companies in India, we’re now only fulfilling our essential goods such as grocery, so that’s cut back a lot on our offering," Brian T Olsavsky, senior vice president and chief financial officer of Amazon saying during an earnings call. Announcing its first quarter results for 2020, Amazon said that it would be spending $4 billion in COVID-19 related expenses during its second quarter.
