The close down of universities affiliated with the University Grants Commission is not easy, said former Higher Education Minister and senior BJP leader C. N. Ashwath Narayan. In an interaction with the media on Tuesday, the former minister talking about the state government’s plan to close downnine public universities, said the closing down of private affiliated colleges itself is a big process. Three universities - Mandya Unitary University, Maharani Cluster University, and Nrupatunga University - were established following the recognition they got at the national level, he said. Going a step further, Mr. Narayan said, “When BJP comes to power, we will establish universities in every district.
