Three new junior colleges sanctioned in AP: Secy

VIJAYAWADA: Three more new junior colleges have been sanctioned under Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Andhra Pradesh BC Welfare Gurukula Vidyalayas: Bethamcherla in Dhone Assembly constituency of Nandyal district, Sadum in Punganur Assembly constituency of Chittoor district, and Amadalavalasa College in Srikakulam district. Secretary of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Gurukula Vidyalayas Krishna Mohan said that there were already 14 junior colleges in the state, and with the newly sanctioned ones, the number had gone up to 17. Krishna Mohan said that the new junior colleges were started in the current academic year, and 40 MPC and 40 BiPC seats had been allotted in each college. He further added that 17 of them were junior colleges, while the remaining 88 schools conducted classes from 5th to 10th grade, and a total of 44,000 students were studying in these educational institutions.
