Veterans' group hosts event celebrating alumni of National Defence Academy
India TodayThe Veteran Defence Forces Group hosted an event for the alumni of the National Defence Academy from the first to the 28th courses. This event celebrated the achievements and sacrifices of over 280 distinguished officers and their spouses who have played pivotal roles in shaping the defence forces and contributing to the nation’s security and prosperity. Notably, many among them played crucial roles in significant military operations, including the wars of 1962, 1965, and 1971, and were recipients of the nation’s highest gallantry awards, such as the Param Vir Chakra, Maha Vir Chakra, Vir Chakra, and Sena Medal, among others. The Veteran Defence Forces Group, which was founded in 1986 to create pathways for economic growth and affordable housing for veterans and the middle class, plans to continue this annual tradition, nurturing a legacy of camaraderie, excellence, and inspiration for future military leaders.
