Amitabh Bachchan's Khakee To Get A Sequel; Script In The Works

22 years after the iconic Gadar, Sunny Deol made a triumphant return as Tara Singh in Gadar 2, shattering box office records across India. The latest addition to the list is Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer Khakee which was released in 2004 and was a hit at the box office. We plan to go on floors with the film by next year as it will also mark 20 years of the original film which is still remembered and watched by the fans and audiences.” Khakee revolved around an Indian police team’s mission to transfer a Pakistani spy from a remote town in Maharashtra to a Mumbai jail. Without revealing much about the sequel Areyman who is currently promoting his upcoming production venture, Pagalpan Next Level, said, “It’s a fresh script which is set in the current time and will also have a continuation from the original film.” Talking about the casting, he added, “My family is close to Akshay sir, but unfortunately his character dies in the first part so we can’t feature him.
