Newsom accuses Musk of spreading 'lies' about the LA wildfires

Spooked Gavin Newsom has lashed out at incoming White House official Elon Musk on X, accusing him of spreading 'lies' about the Los Angeles fires. It comes after Musk, who is set to lead incoming President Donald Trump's new Department of Government Efficiency made a post criticizing California's leadership on Thursday morning, two days after the fires broke out. Businessman and mayoral candidate Rick Caruso blasted local officials last week for failing to refill the water supplies despite knowing that strong winds which could whip up wildfires were on the way. Extreme dry weather conditions due to a prolonged drought, dry vegetation and powerful Santa Ana winds that reached up to 80 mph in some areas this week created the 'perfect storm' for the fires.
