Places of Worship Act: IUML plans rally in Kozhikode

The Hindu

The Indian Union Muslim League is planning to take out a public rally in Kozhikode seeking steps to protect the Places of Worship Act, 1991. The working committee also asked the State government not to delay a legal and factual solution to the Munambam land issue, pointing out that the residents there should not be evicted at any cost. The resolution said that the stand taken by IUML State president Panakkad Syed Sadikali Shihab Thangal on the issue was final. The working committee also voiced its concerns over the reported assault on minorities in the country and termed the Waqf Bill, 2024, a violation of the fundamental rights of believers.
