BRS cooking up stories fearing defeat in Munugode bypolls: BJP on poaching allegations
India TodayThe BJP has alleged that Bharat Rashtra Samithi, formerly known as Telangana Rashtra Samithi, are “planting fake stories” to malign the saffron party’s image. Using Swamiji and many other political brokers, the BJP leaders were caught red-handed pressuring four MLAs from TRS to shift sides to the Bharatiya Janata Party.” Meanwhile, the BJP has vehemently denied the claim. BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh, who is also in charge of the party's Telangana unit, said that the BRS was planting fake stories to malign the BJP and divert the attention of people from the core issues that are going to determine the result of Munugode bypoll. Tarun Chugh said, “The entire episode that has been stage-managed by the Chief Minister is symptomatic of his utter frustration.” Demanding an inquiry by the Election Commission into the matter, the BJP leader said the "complicity of the state police in the conspiracy needed to be exposed".
