“It was me who made your father”: Nitish Kumar tells Tejashwi amidst war of words in Bihar Assembly

The Bihar Assembly on Tuesday witnessed a sharp exchange of words between the Leader of the Opposition, Tejashwi Yadav and the ruling National Democratic Alliance leaders during the discussion on the Governor’s address to the joint session of the Legislature. While Mr. Yadav slammed the NDA government led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the ruling alliance leaders targeted the earlier RJD regimes led by Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi. Criticising the Budget presented by the Nitish Kumar government on March 3, Mr. Yadav said, “We had asked the government to announce a monthly amount of ₹2,500 for women, 200 units of free power, and some other pro-people measures. Speaking on the reservation issue, Mr. Yadav said it was Mr. Lalu Prasad who had extended reservation from 12% to 14% during his tenure. Launching a scathing attack on Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary, Mr. Yadav said it was Mr. Lalu Prasad who had first made Mr. Choudhary a Minister in his Cabinet.
