Liquor authorities have issued a "show cause" notice to the owner of Derby's two main pubs, putting their future in doubt. Key points: The Spinifex Hotel and Boab Inn are asked to prove they're fit to hold a liquor licence after their parent company was fined over breaches Spinifex Hotel sold bulk alcohol during the Kimberley's COVID-19 liquor restrictions The proprietor has indicated he will fight the application WA Police have lodged a Section 95 complaint in relation to the Spinifex Hotel and Boab Inn after the owner and managers were convicted of illegally serving alcohol. The owner and duty managers of the Spinifex Hotel were found to have repeatedly breached emergency COVID-19 liquor restrictions. In November, two duty managers employed by Spinifex Holdings Pty Ltd pleaded guilty to breaching the Liquor Control Act and were issued with fines and spent convictions.
