Newton-John’s leather jacket and skin-tight trousers, the latter which Newton-John had to be sewn into on the set, were used to mark the final transformation of her character Sandy in the 1978 film. The ensemble went up for auction in Beverly Hills this week along with items including Newton-John’s original script for the film and the dress she wore to the film’s premiere. In total, the auction raised $2.4 million, with some of the proceeds going to Newton-John’s cancer treatment centre in Australia.
