Coimbatore ATS detains 31 Bangladeshi nationals from Tiruppur for illegal stay
The HinduIn an overnight operation launched on Saturday, the Anti-Terrorist Squad in Coimbatore detained 31 Bangladeshi nationals from different parts of Tiruppur district for illegally staying in the country. It detained 28 Bangladeshi nationals from the jurisdiction of Palladam police station in Tiruppur rural and three others from the limits of Veerapandi and Nallur police stations in Tiruppur City, who had been working in various companies, allegedly posing as West Bengal natives. Various documents including Aadhaar cards, were seized from the accused, and the ATS along with local police will examine the documents to find out if they were obtained illegally, they said. The sources added that the ATS, along with the local police, will continue to investigate various aspects of the infiltration of the Bangladeshi nationals to India and how they managed to obtain jobs in Tiruppur.
