Black Warrant review: Vikramaditya Motwane's show is real, raw and worth your time

Asia's biggest prison, an underdog jailer, tons of high-profile cases, and the extreme reality of it all. Black Warrant, a new cop-series on Netflix, shows us exactly what happens inside Tihar Jail, and the minds of those operating it. The seven-episode series is directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, and is based on a book of the same title co-authored by jailer Sunil Kumar Gupta and journalist Sunetra Chowdhary. Actor Zahan Kapoor plays the underdog cop, ASP Sunil Kumar Gupta, who neither looks like a jailer nor thinks like one in the conventional sense. A still from Black Warrant Zahan makes Sunil look vulnerable without ripping him off of his machismo.
