I reluctantly joined a choir and found instant community

"Come for a sing by the creek at twilight. It's a cute, hand-drawn flyer for a new choir someone is starting, just around the corner from us. "I guess we're going to miss the choir then," I say, hopefully. 'Smaller worlds with kinder rules' In her book Love Warrior, Glennon Doyle writes about how finding community helped her through an especially tender time: "I still feel naked and vulnerable in the big world, so I seek out smaller worlds with kinder rules — places like recovery meetings, my blog community … places where it's safe to be fully human and fully known."
