Will Robert F Kennedy Jr 'go wild' on US agriculture and what could it mean for Australia?
ABCDonald Trump has announced Robert F Kennedy Junior as the US Secretary of Health and Human Services. In a post to X, President-elect Trump said Mr Kennedy would "end the chronic disease epidemic and Make America Great and Healthy Again!" In the lead up to the election, RFK's campaign slogans included "Make America Healthy Again" and "Make Frying Oil Tallow Again", and he told US media the US Department of Agriculture would report to him. US-based agricultural analyst Brett Stuart said RFK had some "wild ideas when it came to food" including a move away from seed oils and pesticide-intensive agriculture. "A lot of Trump's support comes from rural USA, and I don't think many will be happy to see these kind of policies that RFK is advocating," he said.
