Colts post-combine thoughts: Shane Steichen’s staff, more on QBs, possible cuts

New York Times

INDIANAPOLIS — “What’s the new guy like?” I asked a high-level Colts executive last week, in the midst of some long days at the NFL Scouting Combine. “He is all ball, which I like.” Colts GM Chris Ballard and new head coach Shane Steichen didn’t spend all of their time scouting QBs at the combine. With Shaquille Leonard presumably on his way back — “He’s made progress,” Ballard said last week of his $100 million linebacker — and Zaire Franklin coming off a stellar season, the signs indicate Okereke will be playing elsewhere in 2023. “Those two kids are young players and they’re starting to come on,” Ballard said last week.
