Annamalai mocks MK Stalin's Hindi opposition with DMK leader's video
India TodayTamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai ramped up his criticism of Chief Minister MK Stalin by sharing a video of Minister Durai Murugan, where the latter stated that Members of Parliament must know either Hindi or English. https://t.co/kOIKRafDYi pic.twitter.com/zqwd8DDUp5 — K.Annamalai February 28, 2025 Annamalai didn’t hold back, saying: “TN CM Stalin hasn’t realized that his attempts to deflect the state’s misgovernance by blaming a non-existent Hindi imposition haven’t fooled anyone in Tamil Nadu except a few paint-dabba-carrying folks.” He also argued that if the state adopted the National Education Policy, which allows any Indian language to be learned as a third language, all students would have equal opportunities. Annamalai also shared a previous post from Chief Minister Stalin that opposed the forced imposition of Hindi in schools, arguing that advanced AI translation tools could easily bridge language gaps. In the tweet, accompanied by four images showing how the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam has protected Tamil identity, Stalin said: “Students should not be burdened with extra languages.” BJP leaders advocating Hindi insist, “You must know Hindi to buy tea, pani puri, or use toilets in North India.” In the Age of AI, forcing any language as a third language in schools is unnecessary.
