Rajnath Singh meets NSA, military brass to discuss issues to be taken up with China
India TodayDefence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday held a security review meeting with the Chief of Defense Staff and three service chiefs -- Indian Air Force, Army and Navy -- to discuss the ongoing situation on the Line of Actual Control. The meeting between Rajnath Singh and three Armed service chiefs has come a day after External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, held crucial talks in Moscow to resolve the prolonged border standoff in eastern Ladakh in the midst of a massive spike in tensions with the armies of the two countries further fortifying their positions in the region. During the meeting, India also strongly raised the deployment of a large number of troops and military equipment by China along the LAC in eastern Ladakh. About six-seven days ago, India had carried out pre-emptive actions to occupy Rezang La, Recehen La, blacktop Goswami hill, and other height features near Chushul to pre-empt the Chinese army activities going on there.
