This year, daylight saving time starts on Sunday, March 9 — when most people in the U.S. will get an lose hour of sleep. On November 2, 2025, daylight saving time will end at 2 a.m. local time when we “fall back” and gain an extra hour of sleep. The daylight saving time the United States follows now wasn’t implemented until 2007, when it was decided it would begin on the second Sunday of March and end on the first Sunday of November. In March 2022, the Senate passed The Sunshine Protection Act, which would make U.S. daylight saving time permanent.
