ED submits final complaint in Kodakara highway heist case
The HinduThe Directorate of Enforcement has filed its final complaint in the Kodakara highway heist case in which the State police had alleged the involvement of State BJP leaders. A special investigation team of the State police had questioned 19 BJP leaders, including the party’s former State president K. Surendran. A report of the Investigating Officer of the State police had reportedly indicated that the money stolen was part of the ₹41.40 crore that was illegally brought to the State from Karnataka through various persons for election expenses in the 2021 Kerala Assembly Elections 2021. The party district unit in a statement pointed out that the complaint failed to acknowledge key evidence, including the testimony of BJP office secretary Thirur Satheesh, who had revealed that bundles of black money was funnelled into BJP offices.
