Blue Light exposure accelerates onset of puberty in boys: Mice study suggests

India TV News

Exposure to blue light from smartphones and tablets may accelerate the onset of early puberty in males, according to a study conducted on mice. Dr Aylin Kilinc Ugurlu, the lead researcher from Ankara Bilkent City Hospital, noted, "For the first time, we found a direct relationship between blue light exposure and early puberty in male rats." This study builds upon previous research on female rats that showed similar effects, providing a more comprehensive understanding of how blue light may influence puberty in both genders. While the findings suggest that blue light exposure could potentially contribute to early puberty, the researchers emphasized that more research is necessary to establish direct links to humans.
