'Would they have done that against India, NZ, Pakistan?': Brathwaite accuses England of being 'disrespectful' towards WI
Hindustan TimesWest Indies held on to draw the first Test against England after the Joe Root-led team made a bold declaration on the final day. While the Test resulted in a draw, England's decision to drag the Test to the last over didn't go down well with Carlos Brathwaite, who termed it "disrespectful" when two set batters at the crease didn't lead to England agreeing to a draw. "If I were a senior player in the West Indies dressing room, I would have found it a bit disrespectful that in the last hour, with two set batsmen playing as they were and the pitch offering nothing, England still felt they could get six wickets, going all the way down to five balls left," Brathwaite told BT Sport. West Indies captain Kraigg Brathwaite said Bonner had told him before the match that he wanted to bat for at least 300 balls.
