President Murmu lauds NIMHANS Bengaluru's holistic approach to mental health care
India TodayPresident Droupadi Murmu on Friday praised the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, Bengaluru, Karnataka, for its pioneering work in integrating Yoga and Ayurveda into mental health care. Speaking during the Golden Jubilee celebrations, President Murmu highlighted the effectiveness of traditional methods in promoting mental well-being, emphasising that NIMHANS' services offer a holistic model for mental health care. The President lauded NIMHANS for its initiatives like Tele-MANAS, which provides mental health counseling across India, and the SAMVAD platform, addressing both child and adult mental health issues. "I believe that women can add a unique perspective in mental health care, caregiving, as well as in research," she said.
