Duchess of Cambridge returns to Wimbledon - but ducks out before Andy Murray
The TelegraphThe Duchess of Cambridge joined the crowds at Wimbledon yesterday, taking in several matches and even helping to prepare strawberries for afternoon tea. The Duchess, 39, an avid tennis fan and patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club, looked delighted to be back in SW19 for the first time in two years. But she did not stay late enough to watch Sir Andy Murray take on Canada’s Denis Shapovalov in the third round. On arrival, she headed to Court 14, one of the outer courts, where she was spotted chatting animatedly to Sally Bolton, AELTC chief executive, and former player Tim Henman. Dressed in a navy skirt by Alessandra Rich and tailored jacket by Canadian brand Smythe, the Duchess watched Britain’s Jamie Murray and Brazil’s Bruno Soares take on Nicholas Monroe from the US and Vasek Pospisil from Canada in the first round of the gentlemen’s doubles.
