
Meeting to be convened to discuss deadline for pubs to keep Bengaluru ‘lively’
The HinduStating that Bengaluru is an international city that needs to be “lively”, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. “The Home Minister and I, along with the Excise Minister, will hold a meeting to discuss the possible solution to the issue.” The Deputy Chief Minister was intervening in a question posed by BJP member H.S. In his written reply to the member’s question on the Home Department informing the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike that law and order was suffering due to pubs functioning beyond the stipulated deadline, the Excise Minister said the law and order in the city had remained normal, and that action was being initiated against those violating the deadline norm. Acknowledging that the circular was indeed leading to corruption, the Deputy Chief Minister said a meeting would be called to discuss and address the issue.
