Salman Khan firing case: Court reserves order on plea of deceased Anuj Thapan's mother

The Bombay High Court on Tuesday reserved its order on the petition of Rita Devi, whose son, Anuj Thapan, allegedly committed suicide on May 1, 2024, inside the toilet of a crime branch office in Mumbai. Thapan was arrested by the crime branch in the actor Salman Khan's house firing case on April 14, 2024, when two motorcycle-borne individuals opened fire in Bandra, Mumbai. While the police claim that Thapan killed himself, his mother Rita Devi filed a petition in the High Court on May 3, alleging foul play and claiming that he was murdered. After Rana’s submissions, the bench of Justices Revati Mohite-Dere and Neela Gokhale stated, “Closed for orders.” The bench has reviewed the CCTV footage of the crime branch premises from around the time of the alleged suicide and stated that it does not indicate anyone accompanied Thapan into the toilet.
