Why Bhajan Lal Sharma govt failing to get key bills passed is a big miss

India Today

The BJP government’s failure to get some important bills through has become a talking point of the budget session of the Rajasthan legislative assembly that concluded on March 24. Faced with Opposition pressure, the government was compelled to refer the Ground Water Authority Bill back to the select committee. Then, on March 21, the government faced another embarrassment when the Rajasthan Land Revenue Bill, 2025 was sent to a select committee after MLAs, cutting across party lines, opposed it. Government sources, however, insisted that sending bills to select committees or not tabling controversial ones only showed that chief minister Sharma avoids confrontational politics and believes in taking the Opposition along.
