Shark attack reported at Pyramids Beach near Mandurah

A shark attack has been reported at a West Australian beach south of Perth. A shark was spotted at 4:50pm and Surf Life Saving WA received a report of a person being bitten at 5:10pm at Pyramids Beach, south of Mandurah. In December, teenager Jay Muscat was killed by a shark while spearfishing off Cheynes Beach, about 470 kilometres south of Perth. The Western Australian Government trialled a shark cull program in 2014, using baited drum lines off popular beaches to catch sharks.
