Who’s who of national leaders arrive in Bengaluru for Opposition meet
The HinduMore than 50 leaders from various political parties arrived in Bengaluru on Monday to attend a meeting of the Opposition parties to be held in the Congress-ruled State on Tuesday. The Congress has rallied support from 26 parties for the second Opposition unity meeting, aimed at taking on the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. Parties and leaders The parties who are part of the meeting include Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Trinamool Congress, Janata Dal, Samajwadi Party, Rashtriya Janata Dal, Shiv Sena, Aam Aadmi Party, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Peoples Democratic Party, J&K National Conference, Communist parties CPI and CPI, and Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah hosted a dinner for the leaders on Monday and the guest list included former Congress presidents Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav, among others.
