Woman dies after being run over during suspected carjacking in Mirrabooka

A woman has died in hospital after what is believed to have been an attempted carjacking in the Perth suburb of Mirrabooka, which led to a manhunt through the city's northern suburbs. The woman, believed to be aged in her 50s, was seriously injured after being hit by the car in Cedar Court — a cul-de-sac — just before 10:00am. The car remained outside the home on Friday afternoon while the male driver, who allegedly fled on foot, was arrested about 10 kilometres away in Hamersley following a 90-minute manhunt across the northern suburbs. Police are yet to reveal what sparked the incident or confirm if the woman was the victim of an attempted carjacking.
