Timimi sees it specifically as a pathologisation of maleness, while a report in Time magazine cited a psychologist describing the symptoms of ADHD as "everything that adults don't like about children". Timimi doesn't discount the short-term "success" of these drugs, but points to long-term follow-up studies which have looked at adolescents and young adults eight years on from a prescription of ADHD medication.
