ICC Penalises Pakistan After PAK vs BAN Test. Here's How It Affects Their WTC Final Hopes

As if things were not already going south for Pakistan, they have received another blow after the embarrassing 10-wicket defeat against Bangladesh in the Rawalpindi test. The Shan Masood-led side have been docked six ICC World Test Championship points and 30 percent of their match fee due to maintaining slow over rates. Bangladesh also have met a similar fate as they have been docked three WTC points and 15 percent of their match fee after the PAK vs BAN test. “Hosts Pakistan were found to be six overs short during the Test and lost six World Test Championship points, while visitors Bangladesh were docked three points after being found three overs short of the acceptable rate,” ICC said in an official statement/ “Pakistan were fined 30% of their match fee while Bangladesh were penalised 15%. ICC Penalty Dents Pakistan's Chances Of Making To WTC Final The WTC conditions impose point deductions for being behind the required over rate and thus Pakistan face six-points docking in their WTC points.
