Brandon Ingram has learned how to handle adversity throughout his career, one that’s included a scary blood clot discovered at the end of his Los Angeles Lakers tenure in 2019. His presence has been essential for a team that’s been unraveling since the start of the new year, having gone 8-19 over the last 27 games with Ingram and Zion Williamson out of the lineup for extended periods due to injury. With Williamson’s health status still uncertain – he has been out since Jan. 2 due to a right hamstring strain – the only way New Orleans can salvage this season is for Ingram to play the role of a superstar, on and off the court. “My responsibility is just to make sure everybody is ready and keep everybody involved so we can play our best basketball when we need it.” Ingram’s teammates fully believe he has what it takes to carry them across the finish line. It’s tough when you know a guy is gonna keep coming at you like that, especially with the skill and precision he brings to the table.” Ingram hasn’t shied away from the added pressure.
