Mallikarjun Kharge writes to PM: 'You are being misled about Congress manifesto'
India TodayCongress chief Mallikarjun Kharge wrote an open letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday over the latter's remark on the party's manifesto and the claim that if the party is voted to power, it would distribute the country's wealth to "infiltrators" and "those who have more children". The Prime Minister alleged that the Congress manifesto states that the party will take stock of the gold mothers and daughters have, and will distribute that wealth to "those with more children" and "infiltrators". Mallikarjun Kharge said the Prime Minister was "misinformed" about the Congress manifesto and added that he would be "more than happy" to explain the party's poll promises "so that as the Prime Minister you don't make statements that are false". Kharge said Congress has always served to empower the poor and added, "The Congress Nyay Patra aims at providing Nyay to the youth, women, farmers, labours and marginalised people across all castes and communities."
