BJP interested only in politics, not in discussing people's issues: DK Shivakumar
India TodayKarnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Sunday took a swipe at the opposition BJP, alleging that the party is interested only in politics and is unwilling to discuss issues concerning the state and its people during the ongoing winter session of the assembly in Belagavi. The Congress leader was responding to questions about the possible issues that would be taken up in the remaining four days of the assembly session, including matters related to North Karnataka, particularly irrigation projects. Speaking about the Mahadayi project, a water diversion initiative aimed at addressing the drinking water needs of Belagavi, Dharwad, Bagalkot, and Gadag, Shivakumar said the work could commence as soon as the Centre grants approval. When asked why no case had been filed against any BJP leaders, Shivakumar said, "FIRs have been filed based on the Justice Cunha Committee report.
