Around 1,300 members of the Chorei community from Tripura were forced to take shelter in Assam’s Karimganj district after they were allegedly attacked by Bru refugees from Mizoram who are now living in Tripura. Lal Sangpui, a Chorei tribal woman, who took refuge along with her family in a school building, told India Today TV, “The Brus not only attacked us but also destroyed our houses and properties.
