Magnus Carlsen continued his dominance over Viswanathan Anand, turning a likely draw to a stunning win in 76 moves in the 10th-round of the Tata Steel Masters chess tournament at Leiden, on Wednesday. In this Ruy Lopez game, where Anand was playing black, Carlsen had a knight three pawns to the Indians knight and two pawns after 66 moves. With three rounds to go after Thursday’s rest day, Anand and Carlsen could well be in the company of Anish Giri, who replaced Ian Nepomniachtchi in the lead at 6.5 points. The change of venue for a day saw Nepomniachtchi, the other overnight leader, suffer his first defeat against lowly-placed Jorden van Foreest in 60 moves.
