Hit by major rebellions in the last two years, which eventually led to the parties' split, the Shiv Sena faction and NCP have now taken measures to prevent a re-run. In 2022, Uddhav Thackeray was stunned by a rebellion orchestrated by Eknath shinde, which split the Shiv Sena into two, and joined hands with the BJP to become the CM. Two of the biggest parties in the state, the Shiv Sena and the NCP, split after surprising rebellions by the leaders closest to the chiefs of the respective parties. Both Uddhav Thackeray and Sharad Pawar were shell-shocked after their aides Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar orchestrated rebellions to secure the CM and Deputy CM's seats, respectively.
