Mets camp notes: Injury updates on José Quintana, Kodai Senga and Brooks Raley
New York TimesWEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — In the home clubhouse at Clover Park, a large sign advertises the equipment bus back to New York, which leaves in two weeks. José Quintana’s outlook remains a mystery a week after he went down, and Kodai Senga and Brooks Raley have been added to the ledger of potential concerns in the last 36 hours. “We just want to make sure there’s nothing else going on,” Showalter said. Raley, the lefty reliever, was taken off Team USA’s roster for the World Baseball Classic with what the Mets are calling a “low-grade” strain of his left hamstring. As it stands, Showalter said Raley “should be able to make the start of the season.” Veteran T.J. McFarland, who would probably be next on the depth chart as a lefty reliever, allowed two runs in two innings on Saturday night.
