Do you have @Paytm UPI handle? RBI has a message for you
India TodayThe Reserve Bank of India has asked National Payments Corporation of India to consider One97 Communication Ltd's request to become a Third-Party Application Provider for the UPI channel for continued operation of the Paytm app. This situation has prompted the need for additional measures to ensure smooth digital payments through the UPI channel operated by Paytm Payments Bank and to reduce risk by having multiple payment app providers. "As the Paytm Payments Bank cannot accept further credits into its customer accounts and wallets after March 15, 2024, certain additional steps have become necessary to ensure seamless digital payments by UPI customers using ‘@paytm’ handle operated by the Paytm Payments Bank," said RBI in a press release. Users of FASTag and National Common Mobility Cards issued by Paytm Payments Bank should also make alternative arrangements to avoid inconvenience before the mentioned date. "It is reiterated that the holders of FASTag and National Common Mobility Cards issued by Paytm Payments Bank, may make alternative arrangements before March 15, 2024 to avoid any inconvenience," said RBI.
