Odisha govt forms committee for reservation of govt school students in medical, engineering colleges
India TodayA ‘high power’ committee was constituted by the Odisha government on Thursday to make certain recommendations regarding reservation for students of state-run high schools in engineering and medical courses, according to an official release. On December 28, 2020, the Odisha Cabinet had proposed a reservation for students who passed from government schools for admissions into various medical and engineering colleges. Odisha reservation policy for govt school students As per the policy approved by the Odisha Cabinet, several seats in medical and engineering colleges will be reserved for students from government schools in the state from the upcoming academic session 2021-22. As per the statistics, very few students from government schools end up seeking admissions in medical and engineering colleges after appearing for centralised entrance examinations like NEET and JEE Main and Advanced.
