Bihar to get 559MW power as NPGC commissions final unit
Hindustan TimesPATNA: Bihar will get 559 MW of additional thermal power as the third and final unit, having an installed capacity of 660 MW, of the Nabinagar Power Generating Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the National Thermal Power Corporation Limited, was commissioned at Nabinagar in Aurangabad district on Sunday, said power officials. This will take Bihar’s power share from NTPC power plants to 5,921 MW against the present allocation of 5,362 MW. “Bihar’s total power allocation from NPGC will now reach 1,683 MW and its power share from NTPC would increase to 5,921 MW from the present allocation of 5,362 MW,” added Chandan. “The NTPC, with a total investment of ₹76,246 crore in Bihar, has an installed power generation capacity of 8,410 MW across six projects in the state, while 1,320 MW is under construction,” Kumar said.
