Trump in danger of losing the battle for MAGA to 'President Musk': analyst

Donald Trump could very well be in a battle for control of the MAGA movement because he has lost the plot on how social media works while Elon Musk –– who has his ear –– hasn't. That is the opinion of political analyst Andrew Eggers writing for the Bulwark who asserted that, while Trump is repeating his "greatest hits" on Truth Social, Musk is using his X platform, and his wealth, to overshadow the president-elect with rage-bait that has connected with the MAGA base. According to Eggers, the talk of "President Musk" will likely live on as the billionaire maintains a manic pace by posting continuously on social media while the president-elect is busy planning his return to the Oval Office. And he rarely thinks about the world outside America beyond the degree it impacts himself," Eggers claimed Musk understands reaching out to the base in a changed world in a way Trump doesn't or can't. Writing that the "President Musk stuff" appears to be lingering he added, "if Trump tires of his schtick or starts to resent his place in the spotlight, Musk has his own massive megaphone and seemingly unlimited wealth."
