President Ram Nath Kovind appointed Girish Chandra Murmu as the first Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday. "President is pleased to appoint Girish Chandra Murmu as the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir. Governor of Jammu and Kashmir is transferred and appointed Governor of Goa," said a government statement issued on Friday. The statement further said that along with Murmu, Radha Krishna Mathur was appointed as Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh.
