The luckiest and unluckiest lottery numbers

Daily Mail

Thirteen really is unlucky – that is when it comes to the National Lottery, anyway. MailOnline's analysis of all 3,000 draws since the Lotto began thirty years ago reveals no ball has been pulled fewer times. The combo would have won you 133 lucky dips – the chance to have another go, except the balls are randomly selected for you instead – including five in one go on October 12. Lottery enthusiast Richard Lloyd, who runs the database, has tracked all 21,000 balls pulled since the inaugural BBC1 show hosted by Noel Edmunds on November 19, 1994. After 38, the numbers 23 and 31 have both been pulled 436 times each, while 11 has come up one short of a joint second spot with 435 instances.
