India-bound flights come close to collision in Dubai; DGCA seeks report copy from UAE
India TodayAfter a major tragedy was averted last week, involving two India-bound flights at Dubai International Airport, India’s civil aviation regulator has approached UAE authorities for a copy of their investigation report. The directorate general of civil aviation has asked UAE’s civil aviation authority to share their investigation report after two Emirates Air flights that were headed for India from Dubai on January 9, came close to collision on the same runway. Sources say an Emirates flight bound for Hyderabad had commenced take-off when the air traffic control intervened and asked it to abort take-off. Another emirates flight EK-568, from Dubai to Bangalore, was rolling for departure was to take-off from same runway 30R.” Emirates Air has confirmed the incident and said an internal review against the crew has been ordered.
