
Centre keen on resolving pending issues between two Telugu States
The HinduThe Central government appears to have focussed attention on expeditiously resolving the pending bifurcation issues between the two Telugu States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan has told senior officials of the two States that the Home Ministry will forthwith convene meetings once every two months to resolve the pending issues expeditiously. The Union Home Secretary reportedly asked the two States to start process pertaining to apportionment of 53 institutions on which a broad agreement was arrived at. The meeting discussed about pending issues pertaining to division of erstwhile AP State Finance Corporation, institutions not mentioned anywhere in the Act, apportionment of amount relating to Centrally Sponsored Schemes, reimbursement of expenditure incurred by Telangana government on maintenance of common institutions and apportionment of public debt pertaining to externally aided projects among others figured in the discussions.
