Congress leader questions HD Kumaraswamy's double standards on skin tone remarks
India TodayKarnataka Congress leader Tejaswini Gowda has criticised the uproar surrounding Minister BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan's controversial ‘kaliya’ remarks about JD leader and Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy. Speaking to reporters, Tejaswini pointed out the inconsistencies in the backlash, questioning why it is acceptable for actor Radhika Kumarswamy, the Union Minister’s wife, to refer to her husband as "Kariya" but not for Khan to use a similar term. Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara indicated on Monday that the state Congress might initiate disciplinary action against Minister BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan following his remarks. He said that the party’s disciplinary committee, led by former Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha K Rahman Khan, may take up the matter if referred by Shivakumar.
